Wood Plastic Composite Lumber Products
The dimensional specifications of wood-plastic composite lumber products (“WPC”) have tightened considerably over the past few years. As this has occurred, WPC manufacturers have had to find better ways to manufacture, measure and monitor their product. With the introduction of a 150mm version of its popular Profile360, Bytewise is able to offer a solution to these measuring and monitoring needs. The Profile360 has proven to be effective in reducing start-up time and reducing the amount of scrap product that is produced.
The Profile360 has also proven effective in helping WPC manufacturers who desire to run totally automated operations. In these cases, the Profile360 serves as the operator’s eyes when no human is there to monitor the dimensional specifications of the extrusion. As the WPC extrusion begins to drift toward an out-of-specification condition, an output signal is generated that alarms an operator to adjust the system controls.
